Condolences
My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy, but please find comfort in knowing that there is going to be a resurrection. God's word the Bible says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous and with this hope, it is possible for you to see her again. More of God's promises at Rev. 21:3, 4 talk about a restored paradise where the human family will have the chance to enjoy life without end, free of sickness, disease and death as we welcome back our dear loved ones. May these Bible verses help strengthen and sustain you along with the many others promises of God found at www.jworg. May all the many wonderful memories that Jana your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear of your loss of your wife Jana. Few can imagine what you must have gone through to try to help her win that battle. I hope you can find strength from family and friends to support you as you cope with the grieving process and the
adjustments you are having to make.
Linda Winchell
Rest easy, Cousin Jana. Our family lost such a bright, shining star, when we lost you. Your life is such a positive testimony for the rest us: your faith, your close bond with your family, all your hard work, your desire to help others, the fact that so many people loved you, and that big, happy smile of yours. We all will miss you so much.
I am so sorry to hear of Jana's passing. She was way too young. I cannot imagine the heartache this brings to all of you. My prayers and love are for your family as you go through this sad time. Knowing there is no more pain for her has to help a tiny bit but I know you will miss her so much. I feel like I watched her grow up, get married, and have children through the eyes, photos, and words of Jeff and Fran. Hugs to you all and know you are in my thoughts. (I worked in CCJ Dept. under Jeff's chairmanship for many years.)
God bless this family, all whom are blessed and lots of prayers to you all. Thanks for touching my son's life and all who you came in touch with. God has a beautiful Angel and we thank him for sharing. Sending love and prayers to all.
Dear Family of Jana Strain:
For two years, I was privileged to serve with Jana as a law clerk to Justice Brent Dickson. I saw in Jana a daughter, a wife, and a mother who loved her family deeply and cherished them beyond words. Jana exhibited a profound faith, a genuine spirit of service, and a heart for others. I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to work with her and to know her. I pray that God will give you comfort and peace, that he will make your faith strong, and that he will grant his faithful servant Jana eternal rest.

The staff at Kids' Voice of Indiana want to send our deepest condolences to Jana's family. Jana had volunteered for our agency and gave of herself to serve the best interests of children in that capacity. Her gracious spirit touched so many and for that she will be so fondly remembered.
Fran and Jeff,
We are sorry we cannot be with you at this sad time, but our thoughts and sympathy are.
Jana was certainly an achiever just like to the two of you. She will always be an inspiration to her sons and all who knew her.
With deep-felt sympathy, Dorothy and Bill Jerse
Dear Family of Jana -
The Indianapolis community has lost a true gem. Jana was a true friend to all who knew her; always with a bright smile on her face. She loved the law and was an outstanding attorney, and I admired her compassion for and dedication to her clients. She was the epitome of respect and civility, both in the courtroom and out. What is our loss is most certainly Heaven's gain. She will be missed. I wish all of you peace, healing, and many good memories.

Dear Family of the Beloved Jana Strain,
Jana was among the brightest stars in our profession. In my current position as Chief Justice, I had the good fortune to have many opportunities to visit with Jana in the last few years. In addition to her many outstanding legal talents, she was an incredible mentor to women in the profession as well as other small and solo practitioners. God willing, I hope to visit with her again.
Peace,
Loretta Rush
I am so sad at Janas passing. She was truly a great woman, mother, wife, and attorney and she will truly be missed.
So sorry Nephew, I pray that God will be with and help you through this, take care and God Bless.Tell the boys hello.
Dear family,
I am a member of St.Joseph parish and met Jana several years ago while I was soliciting for our annual fall festival. Jana was friendly and receptive. The first time I met her she said business was slow and had 2 boys nearing college. I believe it was about a year and half ago, she told me about the cancer so I put her on our prayer chain. She called me last August said she had been out of town getting kids into college and said she was cutting back on office because of health recurrence. I told her we would keep her on prayer chain. I know God will be happy to see such a kind person.
God Bless all of you.
I was so very sorry to hear of Jana's passing. I have very fond memories of Jana and Greg from their Terre Haute days. She was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold. My deepest sympathy to Greg and her sons! I know she will be terribly missed, but is home with Jesus and all of the angels. God's Blessings upon her and her family.
My heart aches for all of you. Jana was one of the dearest friends I had and she blessed my life. She was so much fun in college and we made many memories together. My prayer for each of you is for God's peace and comfort to touch you daily. I have been and will continue to be in prayer for each of you. Please take comfort in knowing there are so many of us that love all of you and will be here for you.

Jana was a bright light in our legal profession. We all appreciated everything she gave to make our profession better. We will miss her. Peace and comfort to the whole family.
Fondly, John Trimble, Immediate Past President, Indianapolis Bar Association
My heart aches for all of you now. Jana and I had many classes together in school throughout the years. We danced together with our crazy reunion props. I am so sorry for your loss. She was always the best of the class of 1983. She will be missed.
I was moved today at mass when we sang Lord, Who Throughout These Forty Days: 5th v Abide with us that when this life of suffering is past. An Easter of ending joy we may attain at last! My prayer for Jana
Jana and I went to school together growing up. She was smart, funny and always kind-hearted. When we saw each other years later, the love she had for her boys was evident. I am so sorry for your loss. May God wrap his arms around you and provide peace.
I went to Rio Grande, Otter Creek and North with Jana. While I recall Jana always being the "smartest girl" in school, the best memory i have of her is that she was always the kindest. She was always nice to everyone. We never forget people who are genuinely KIND like Jana.
Prayers for peace to her family.
Dear Greg and Family,
I truly am saddened to hear of Jana's passing. The world has lost a great woman. I pray that you and your family will be comforted by all the wonderful memories you shared together. I am one of many of Jana's Alpha Phi sisters. Even though we lost touch over the years, she has always remained a sister and friend in my heart. Sadly, I will not be able to attend Jana's services. I will pray for the Lord to be with you and comfort you all through this difficult time.
My Deepest Sympathy,
Karen Fettinger
I am so sorry to all of you on your loss. What a fabulous person we have lost. I was a neighbor of Jana's on Rosehill Rd in Terre Haute. We went from elementary through high school together. Remember great times at her house when young. Prayers for all of you.
Greg, Griff, and Jake:
I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept our most sincere condolences and know that you will continue to be in our prayers.
Thank God for Jana Strain's life among us. She has gone on to an even better place. But she sure made this place better while she was here. Whether in her family, profession, or community, Jana found a need and met it. Her care and concern for others was extraordinary. Her willingness to "let go" of a young son dreaming his dream was an inspiration. Her keen intellect was used in service to others, not to glorify herself. Even when battling cancer, her greatest concern was for the people she encountered, and showing kindness to them. I will miss her bright smile, but know she is smiling even more now. Jan Aikman Dickson, Indianapolis
Jana Strain's passing leaves a huge empty hole for all who knew her. I remember Jana's brilliant intellect as the top law student in my Indiana Constitutional Law class, and in her work as my judicial law clerk for the next two years. In her ensuing professional career, she was not only accomplished but devoted, both to her clients and to the betterment of the profession. But more important to her than her professional accomplishments was her love for her family. While she leaves a vacuum, she also leaves an example of love, service, and dedication—to inspire all who knew her. Indiana Supreme Court Justice Brent Dickson.
