Condolences
I am so sorry for the Reid Family and your loss; I lost my Mom last year. I have found death to leave me with a feeling of helplessness. May I leave you this word of encouragement that has helped me? The Bible says at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 that God hates death, and shows it to be an enemy. He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. -Job 14:14, 15. My sincere condolences.
I have many fond memories of staying, along with some of my sisters, at the home of my aunts Rena and Esther for a night here and there. We would run around and around in the yard in Haughville, leaping over the gutter downspout with Pepper hot on our heels. I especially remember the special ginger beer they introduced us to. I yearned for that ginger beer later in life, but it was just not the same.
It was only as an adult that I recognized the kindness they both were showing these 3 hoodlums in giving up their peaceful weekends to entertain us.
God bless you, Rena. I regret that I never took the time to thank you properly for your kindness. I hope I do a better job next time I see you.
With love,
Phyllis Trauner Marlar
