I am saddened to hear of my sons passing
I have many great memories of Mike during high school. he was a kind , respectful and FUN guy. My deepest sympathy to Mike's family.
My heart goes out to your family. I have many memories of family gatherings, camping & reunions together when we were young. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I worked with Mike for over 20 years in the Traffic Branch at the Indianapolis Police Department. He became one of my very best friends. You could count on him to help with any problems you had at work or otherwise. His wisecracks kept me laughing almost everyday. It was more fun going to work because he was there.
I guess everyone remembers where they were on 9-11. That morning Mike, Davie White an I sat and watched as the entire tragedy unfolded...
We took golf lessons together along with Jim Taylor, Rick Redmond and other our other Traffic friends...He could send that golf ball to the moon.
He teased me when I went back to school to earn my bachelors degree in Socia Work. He always said I was taking so long to finish that I would be paying back my student loan with my SSI check....He was right...I am doing just that.
Most of all he was my friend. I knew he was just a phone call away if I needed anything...I hope he felt the same way.
Rest in Peace my friend...watch over the rest of us left behind....we still need that comfort.
Mike was a joy to work with at the many, many runs and walks where he organized the safety detail.
Not only was he constantly aware of safety for the runners and walkers, he was always concerned about the residents and businesses affected during the event.
Mike will be missed.
Graduated from high school with Mike. Saw him working on traffic details, rand in to him at traffic court and the City-County Building downtown. We would always chat, catch up on each other's lives and just enjoy a nice, comfortable old friendship. Godspeed, Mike. A true and faithful friend.
I'm so sorry to hear this news. I have many treasured memories of our families' times together many years ago.
Mike would work PT while the JW was being built. He would take 1 of his dogs on shift. While CVPs worked traffic we could look up and see them crossing over the street in the enclosed walkway. Still LOL....1 of the dogs....Lucy was afraid of stairs. Lots of stairs on his rounds. Every set of stairs he had to carry Lucy for the whole shift.

Thinking of you and wishing you moments of peace and comfort during this difficult time. Your friends and family at First American Title
On behalf of the members of the Société de Police - IPD Adam & Edward, our condolences to Mike's family and friends, during this troubling time. We pray to God to give you all the courage to overcome this grief. May God bless you, and endow you with his love and care. Eternal Rest Grant to Michael J. Rinehart, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
