Obituary of Ruth Delph
Ruth Holland Delph 92, Indianapolis, passed away on June 6, 2013. She was born on January 7, 1921 in Douglas, Wyoming to John and Elizabeth Holland. Ruth attended Franklin College. She worked at Jefferson Proving Grounds in Madison, Indiana during World War II.. She was a Contract Buyer at Plant 3, Allison Division of General Motors Corp. in Indianapolis, retiring after 25 years. Ruth and her husband retired and moved to Port Charlotte, Florida where they enjoyed fishing and having their Hoosier family and friends come visit. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, William C. Delph; sister, Iris Holland and brother, Jack Holland. Surviving are her daughters, Shirley Kendrick and Linda Smith; son, Larry Delph; brothers, Glenn Holland (Bonnie) and Ralph Holland (Mickey); Granddaughter, Jenny Kocks (Nate); grandchildren, Maci and Reece Kocks; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 10 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday June 11 in St. Christopher Catholic Church 5301 W. 16th St., Speedway. Interment services will be held at a later date in Port Charlotte, Fl.
