He was a great father to me. He gave me a family and he made me laugh he made life amazing.i will always remember him.
I knew Jody when he was an LDS missionary in Paradise, California. I had just joined the LDS Church and he was a great friend and helped me prepare for my full-time mission to France. My best wishes and prayers to your family - Romans 8:28.
Jody was the first person that I met in Indianapolis. It was nice to get to know him, and I consider him in many ways to be a brother. I pray that his family will find peace and comfort in his memory.

Jean, I am so sorry for your loss. I had many an opportunity to sit around at work over at the old Fair Oaks building with Jody and when on breaks we had many a discussion about gospel topics and the funny thing is we talked so many times about the afterlife and which one of us would get there first. I think he humorously said once, "Yeah if I go first I'm gonna come back and haunt you and make sure you don't mess up!" Wish that were so. I can only imagine Fred being there to grasp him into her waiting arms. I pain at the thought of not being there this weekend for you and the boys. Hope we can converse sometime soon. All my love. Dale Nartker
One of my favorite memories of Jody was during our little league baseball days. We were playing Saxons Candy in the championship game of the season. It was a long hard game and we had been tied most of the night. The game was in extended play, the top of the 13th inning and we managed to score a run, 3 to 2 now but Saxons had the bottom of the inning to try and make a come back. It was 2 outs, man on first and second, 3-2 count, power hitter at the plate. Jody was in Left Field, his last game in his last season. On the next pitch from the crack of the bat the whole place could tell that ball was going out of the park and right over the left field fence. It was a hard liner that was slowly gaining altitude and was headed over Jody's head, everyone knew it couldn't be caught, the game was lost! Jody charged up two steps, reached up with his glove, left arm at his side as he jumped, the sound of the ball hitting his glove was a pop that set off cheers from fans and teammates! Jody had made an impossible jump and saved the game! The team ran onto the field and mobbed Jody with cheers and exclamations and disbelief that he could have jumped and caught that liner so high up! They picked Jody up and carried him from the field, he was the Hero of the game. I think of this time often and have all my life. I remember the most important lesson in this Hero's effort, he won because he tried. We won first place and a trip to Atlanta to see the Braves play the Mets in a double header. So at times when I think it's impossible, even if I think I can't, I tell myself, hell, maybe I can, Jody did.

"and he never did look upon death with any degree of terror, for his hope and views of Christ and the resurrection; therefore, death was swallowed up to him by the victory of Christ over it. (Taken from the Book of Mormon, Alma 27:28)
A Jody story from dear ole days at Saks High. After many hours of band practice in the hot sun, the sound of the very talented trumpet line playing Ghost Riders, there stands Jody, Tony, Ben, Warren, and Bryan giving their all. Thanks for the memories, Rest in Peace Jody.
Stevens Mortuary would like to offer our condolences to the Nunnally family. Thank you for placing your trust in us and allowing us the opportunity to help celebrate Jody's life.
I knew Jody back in school. He was the kindest, nicest, person. From what I have read recently, this never changed. People that knew him were blessed for it. My husband and I send our deepest condolences for their grief. Jody was a hero to me. As an RN for many years, I had several patients that suffered his diagnosis. He faced it with grace, determination and strength. He lived longer than anyone I've know with the diagnosis. I told him several times that he was a miracle. Good fight, Jody. Now, rest. Kathy and Bryan
I only met Jody once, at his Mom and Dad's house. But, he was immediately likeable, and had a wonderful quiet peaceful nature. He had a nice, soft smile, and enjoyed laughter. He was a pretty good little singer, too. My Mom always says that when The Good Lord gets ready for you, he will simply take you, whether you're washing dishes in the kitchen, or skydiving. God knows why, when, and decides the exact moment we come into this world, and he also has long known the exact moment when he will call us from this Earth. God Bless you, Jody, and the entire Nunnally family. You were a nice guy, and will really be missed. Your pal, Merlin Grigsby, Hendersonville, Tennessee
