Obituary of James Arthur Adams
James A. Adams, Jr. (76) of Brownsburg IN, passed away on July 18, 2017 at Hendricks Regional Hospital.
He was born the oldest of 12 children to the late James A. and Glendora (Smith) Adams. Jim graduated from Eminence High School in 1959. He proudly served 4 years in the Marine Corps. He was an Indiana State Trooper from 1965-1966, construction worker for many years and worked the last 7 years for Allied Universal as a security guard at Duke Energy in Plainfield IN. Jim is survived by; his wife Beverly (Perry) Adams, son Dan (Jennifer) Adams of Brownsburg, his grandchildren (the joy of his life); Madilynn and Wyatt Adams of Brownsburg, brothers; Duane (Betty) Adams, Lafayette , Larry (Ellen) Adams, Stilesville, William Adams, Ft. Myers FL, Samuel (Dawn) Adams, Plainfield, Edgar (Chris) Adams, Chandler AZ, and sisters; Sandra (Ron) Decker, New Castle, Susan Hastings, Indianapolis, and Brenda Barnhill, Indianapolis. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Hazel Perry, Brownsburg, sisters-in-law; Shirley Perry, Indianapolis, and Pam Waddell (Ray) Mutter, Brownsburg, special niece and husband, Holly and Klint South and children Sophia and Klinton, Brownsburg, special aunt, Donna Turner, Brownsburg, children; Teresa Brazill and Brian Adams, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters; Karen S. and Dawn A. Adams and 3 brothers; Charles (Butch) Adams, Douglas Adams and Daniel Adams. He loved spending time with his family and loved to go out to eat with his friends, the Baldaufs. He was an avid reader (mostly westerns) and also enjoyed watching the 'History Channel', fishing and crosswords. His biggest joy was doing things with his grandchildren, Madi and Wyatt. A special thanks to his sister, Sue Hastings, for all she did over the past 14 months for Jim. Her love and devotion were invaluable and will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the American Legion Hall, 636 E. Main St., Brownsburg, IN on Sunday, July 30, 2017. Visitation will be from 3:00pm-4:00pm with the memorial service immediately following. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
