Jim was a great neighbor. He fought a hard battle and never gave up. His smile and big wave when he saw us will be greatly missed. We loved watching him play baseball with his grandchildren. our condolences go to Bev and the family
"Sunshine" was a wonderful man. He was hard working, caring and was ALL about his family. I met Jim 2.5 years ago on my first day at Duke Energy. Jim was ALWAYS the first to offer to help and he was ALWAYS smiling. I could be having the worst day and spending 5 minutes chatting and smoking with "my Sunshine", I'd leave with a smile on my face again!!! He had a magical way of making me feel better about everything. I will miss him greatly and there will always be a void... Jim, "Sunshine", was one in a million and he touched my life. May God comfort and keep you in this sad time. Thank you for sharing him with us! He was a gift from God! : )
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jim's greeting every morning brightened my day and his care of the employees and guests here at Duke Energy was so thoughtful. I will miss him watching over my events. Rest in peace Jim. Crystal Underwood
I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed talking to Jim almost daily at Duke Energy and will miss his morning greetings and smiles, along with his laughter. I had a chance to sit with him last year at the Veteran's Day activities at Duke Energy and he shared some of his military service experience with me and I remember my respect for him growing even more. Thanks for touching my life Jim!
I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I always enjoyed working with him at Duke Energy. He always had a smile on his face. I had no idea his health was declining. RIP Jim!
Jim always had a smile on his face. I work at Duke Energy and I would always forget my keys as I went out for lunch and Jim would remind me to grab them.Such a genuine person. I want to express my condolences to the family of Jim. I know he loved his family and friends and always spoke so fondly of them.
Jim was one of those you always looked forward to seeing when you came in the morning. Always smiling and have a good thing to say in the morning. I am retired now but would look forward to seeing him when I came in to visit. He will be missed by many people at Duke.

Bev, I am so sorry for your loss, and it is a great loss. Jim always waved as I passed on my way to or from. . .
They don't make many men like Jim. It was great working with him the last several years and having him as a neighbor. Once he informed me he had cancer, I checked every morning to make sure he was at work. Every morning, I would look out my window to see if he was parked in front of the building. He will be missed. Bob Lutes
Jim was a wonderful brother-in-law we shared many good times together. He loved family and have a good time. I loved going on a fishing trip with him. Jim made Beverly happy plus the whole family. He will be missed very much. RIP. Shirley Perry
