Condolences
In December 2019 a bright candle was dimmed by the passing of my first cousin Brownell ‶Kookie ‶ Payne, Jr. I will always remember him as a fun loving family member who enjoyed life. He was a warm and understanding father, son, and brother. His energy will be missed by many. May his soul rest in the palm of God’s hand. Wilbur ‶Bill″ Payne
To all grieving members of the Payne family, your extended family, and all those who cherished Kookie (Brownell), I pray that all of you be comforted in this time of loss. I have not seen Kookie in decades. I knew Kip (Keith) the most as a child growing up in our old neighborhood, and admired both Kookie and Poppy (Denise). Kookie was ALWAYS a nice guy. There were some kids in the neighborhood who wanted to act tough and be bullies, but Mr. and Mrs. Payne raised decent children and my parents allowed me to ride my bike around the corner to visit with them more so than anyone else. Mrs. Payne even babysat me on a few occasions while my mother worked. I pass by their old house and think about the memories every time I'm in the neighborhood. Kookie will definitely be missed. Gone WAY TOO SOON, like dear Poppy. I can't believe we've all lived to be old enough to see so many of those whom we grew up with pass away. But if my memories of Kookie are still clear, I knew him as a fun, happy, energetic person and although my heart aches and mourns his untimely passage, I will remember the bright soul that he was and smile on account of that memory. May Jehovah God bless each of you, comfort you, protect your broken hearts, and help you to endure this painful loss, through Jesus Christ, our Saviour. - Jeff
Thank you Kookie for showing the fundamentals of exercise and healthy living. It is because of your optical store that I met my wife of 20 plus years. My family embraces as a way of life, high value of healthy living as a result of your push for physical acumen. Exercise, healthy eating and vitamins are a cornerstone to daily life. you have been a stellar big brother within my life. Forever peace & love. My God carry your spirit in peace. I will be forever indebted. Keith
