Obituary of Grisel Barajas-Espinoza
Obituary:
Those who knew Grisel, even just a little, lost a shinning light in their lives. Her contagious smile, jokes, and uplifting energy will forever glow into the hearts of all who knew her. Grisel was an anchor in the community sharing her talents on la Grande 105.1 radio station as program director and host and Telemundo Indy TV Network. Ingrained in the Latino community here in Indianapolis, she was a vibrant inspiration to us all.
Grisel was a graduate from University of Southern Indiana where she earned her Bachelors degree in Arts and a Masters in Communication. She was an advocate for higher education and was currently working in obtaining her Doctorate degree. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and was known to her nephews and nieces as the "cool Aunt". She thoroughly enjoyed reading, running, traveling and being a big foodie.
Along with fulfilling her dreams of being a broadcaster, Grisel's biggest dream was to have an impact in the community she was a part of. She loved volunteering and mentoring others. She was along with many other titles also a motivational speaker, and believed in inspiring others to be the best versions of themselves.
During her career she received many awards and achievements. Her Dream was always to leave a legacy behind and she always wanted to be remember for all that she did. She was in love with her community and audience. She was never at work, that was Grisel's life and passion.
Grisel will be received with Welcoming arms in Heaven by her paternal grandparents, Rebeca Fernandez de Barajas and Salvador Barajas Hernandez; maternal grandparents, Magdalena Rameriz de Espinoza and Pedro Espinoza Rameriz; and uncles Luis Espinoza Rameriz and Pedro Espinoza Rameriz. She will be missed every day by her parents Salvador Barajas Fernandez and Genoveva Espinoza de Barajas; sisters, Janine (Antonio) Barajas and their children Priscilla and Matthias Barajas, Jessica (Nahu) Alonso and their children William L. and Dyago Alonso, Annilu (Andres) Munoz and their child Valentina I.
