Obituary
Obituary of Patrick Lewis
Patrick Vincent Lewis, Sr., was born the son of Robert Lewis and Lucille Hines on October 4, 1963, at General Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Patrick attended Greencastle High School in Greencastle, Indiana.
During his junior year he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana.
He continued his education at Shortridge High School and graduated in the class of 1981.
Patrick accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Eastside Baptist Church where he attended for 28 years.
He also answered the call from the Lord to help his cousin, Pastor Eugene Simmons III, to help plant a church "Visions of Soul Christian Life Center" in October 2006.
He became a chartered member and through many church transitions, the church became "New Covenant Christian Life Center".
Under the spiritual training of Pastor Simmons, he became a Deacon and served the church faithfully.
Patrick welcomed his first son, Patrick Vincent Lewis, Jr, on August 19, 1985, and his second son, Vincent Patrick Lewis on August 20, 1991.
Patrick enjoyed being a father and sought out opportunities to spend time with his sons.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend who cherished his family and church.
Patrick was a very hard worker and prided himself on always having a job and sometimes even two. For the last ten years, Patrick worked as a Service Technician for Aramark, a job that he really enjoyed.
Patrick departed this life at age 58.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lewis; his mother, Lucille Hines; his brothers, Jesse Haynes and Seitu Nurullah; and his niece Naikwa Nurullah.
Patrick leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Susan, whom he cherished and met in 2004 and was married for almost ten years.
They enjoyed being together.
Susan was his rib and was the joy of his life.
He loved taking care of her.
He leaves behind his Uncle William and Aunt Gwendolyn Smith that became his adopted parents.
Patrick also leaves behind his only sister, Cynthia Ann Lewis; his two loving sons, Patrick Jr. and Vincent; his nephews, Gary Smith, Howard McCoy, Quentin Haynes, Rahsaan Nurullah, and Mansur Nurullah; and his nieces, Crystal Tuttle (Joshua), Rafika Nurullah, and Keewa Freitag (Doug); his God Children, Chris Majors and Gabrielle Barnes; and a host of grandchildren, great nephews, great nieces, cousins, and friends.
