Obituary of Mary Ann Wolf

Mary Ann Wolf 89, Indianapolis passed away June 3rd, 2023 at Harmony at Avon. She was a sparklingly Joy filled personality who was cherished and loved by all that knew her. She retired in 1999 after 19 years as the secretary to the managing editor of the Indianapolis Star. She was a profound lover of music, most specifically the jazz piano greats. She was a prolifically talented artist in many mediums. She painted in oil and watercolors, drew in pencil and charcoal, as well, she created a variety of exquisite pieces in stained glass, ceramics and macrame. Even in her later years her desire to enrich her artwork inspired her to attend classes. Mary Ann fearlessly loved to travel to exciting destinations usually with one or two companions. Among others, some of her destinations were  the Canadian Rockies on horseback, Ireland, England, Venice, the Mayan temples in Chichén Itzà Mexico as well as many states throughout the US . The majority of her life as a mother she attended St Christopher Parish. For 44 years she was married to Donald R Wolf, who preceded her in death. They had three sons. Christopher (Dianne), Stephen and Joseph. They had one daughter, Donna Wolf-Moore. Both Joseph and Donna preceded her in death. Besides two of her sons, she is survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren ; brother Pete, brother Steve and sister Veronica. In her later years her son Steve was her caregiver until she moved to Harmony at Avon where she lived and continued receiving assistance for her last 8 months. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer foundation.A memorial service will be held at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 6:00 PM with a memorial gathering from 3:00PM until time of service.
