Obituary of Richard Allen Smoot
Richard A. (Rick) Smoot, loving husband of Sandra McCutcheon Smoot abruptly left us to grieve his sudden passing March 15, 2023.
Rick was born in Indianapolis, IN to Sandra Coy Smoot and Charles Richard Smoot. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Maude and Chester Coy, paternal grandparents Homer and Clarice Smoot, mother, father, brother Chuckie, and sister Anne Marie Smoot Cox.
While confident Rick rejoices in Heaven, those left here to grieve his passing include his wife Sandra, stepmother Sharon Smoot, sisters Cindy Smoot and Missy/Les Taulbee, brother-in-law Geoff Cox and nephew Caden Cox.
Rick had recently retired from a life-long career as a gifted mechanic. He loved cars, was an exceptional gardener, and had a unique love for animals, especially cats, leading him to rescue many in his lifetime.
Rick also loved tremendously and always looked for ways to enhance and brighten the lives of those around him. He will be greatly missed by many.
“Since we believe that Jesus died and rose, so we also believe that God will bring with Him those who have died in Jesus.”
