Condolences
Luba was such a dear friend to me and to so many others. I will miss her so very much, but she will always be close in my heart and memory.
Such a great woman. Luba worked for my dad and I adored her and her energy. She will be missed. My sincerest condolences to all her family and friends.
Teta Luba and Uncle Louie were quite a pair. Spending time with them when I was younger was a wonderful time in my life.. As I got older Teta helped me with understanding our family tree . Her laugh was infectious especially when Uncle Louie was doing something she may or may not have approved of. She was a wonderful lady and I will miss her dearly. Memory Eternal and she rest in peace.

My sympathies to Luba's extended family. As one of the "old timers" from Friday night folk dance (sadly absent in recent years), I fondly remember dancing with Luba over many years. She loved to teach her beloved Macedonian dances, and helped with the pronunciation of ALL the verses to Makedonsko Devojce!
Many of the Friday night dancers also liked to go to the dinner dances at St Stephen's, where we could dance Macedonian folk dances to a live ethnic band. The week before the dance, Luba made sure to review the steps for all the dances we would be dancing at St Stephen's.
Such a kind, sweet person who always had a bright cheery smile on her face. Luba, you are missed.
The loss of my Teta hurts me deeply but knowing she is in the arms of Jesus brings me much comfort. I remember the over-nights and waking up to the smell of a good breakfast and looking through the well-organized picture albums. There was never a time she wasn't taking pictures of someone! Teta had beautiful calligraphy, so anytime the family received a card we knew immediately who the card came from just from her beautiful writing! Oh how I wish I could have dressed like her at the dances, her beautiful taste in Macedonian culture was evident. Her dance class and the patience of Teta Luba taught me new dances I didn't know, so when I dance them now it makes me think of her. Teta Luba will truly be missed, please tell CheChe Louie we will see him soon!
Love,
Patty

Luba brings memories of a sweet fun loving neighbor that always had a smile along with an invitation to come in for a visit. We shared lots of stories and even exchanged recipes … especially for her stuffed peppers. A beautiful, classy lady with beautiful handwriting and a love for life.
Mike, Nancy and families - Very sorry to hear about Teta Luba's passing. We both loved to take pictures and keep the family history albums updated, will miss her.
Teta Luba and Uncle Louie were my God Parents. They treated me like a daughter and were a big part of my life. (They loved Vickie and Carl, my mom and dad very much). So many wonderful memories of Teta, but I keep going back to how much she loved watermelon and always had it in her refrigerator. Now that she is in heaven I hope there is a big watermelon patch with her name on it. Love you Teta. God Bless.
My heart is with my friend Nancy and her family at this time of her mom's passing. Luba was the sweetest, most fun, bright & lively, petite woman in her 80's and 90's. Luba always looked years younger & was beautifully dressed. She was a livewire, especially at the orthodox church dance evenings downtown where she danced Macedonian & other ethnic folk dances. She & Nancy enjoyed helping friends at church prepare fantastic zelnik for an annual festival. She loved immediate family & extended family, celebrating special occasions, their weddings and achievements. Always smiled, always enjoyed life. We will all miss such a gregarious, cute, kind-spirited woman, a bright light in our lives.
Luba was loved dearly. I have so many fond memories of her and Louie. She will be dearly missed. I’m sorry I can’t attend the funeral as I’ve been recovering from an illness. My thoughts will be with you all.

Aunt Luba was such a wonderful, kind lady full of grace and love. We will miss her so much!
We were lucky. There was always food on the table. Neither Mom nor Dad was sick or in any accident that would would have disrupted our childhood. We were always safe and always loved. Among other things, Mom gave us the gift of music. I always will remember the many warm summer evenings with the doors and windows open (because there was no air conditioning) and listening to Mom play the piano after dinner. She always said she wasn't very good but I never believed her. Many people had pianos that sat in their houses and were never played - ours wasn't one of them.
In 1963, Luba and Louie went to see "Holiday on Ice" at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds Coliseum. This was to be an evening filled with a show of music and ice skating. They were seated two rows above an aisle walkway that was above a section that was at the edge of the ice. These were good seats. Midway through the show, there was a terrible accident. Under the section directly in front of them was a room where propane tanks were stored - these were used for refrigeration for the concession area under the seats. A propane leak occurred followed by a spark and there was a terrible explosion. People were sent into the air and chaos ensued. The surprise of the moment was not immediately realized - the show was spectacular by itself and Mom commented that they thought it was part of the show at first. They were able to leave unharmed in spite of concrete and debris all around. Nancy and I were at home and we were both asleep in the family room with the TV on. I remember waking up to a happy Mom and Dad hugging us. I don't remember what was on TV at the time but they changed the station to one that had live coverage of the disastrous event. More than 80 people were killed but they were spared. We instantly realized how lucky we were to have survived such a close call as this that would have changed our lives forever.

My condolences to all of Luba's loved ones esp. Nancy!! Luba and I attended the workshops in Columbus Ohio together. We drove together and had many laughs as we drove along. Some of the laughs were over Louie's shenanigans. He spent and entire ride from their home and back to a gas station trying to teach me how to pronounce Makedonski Devoce. I still can't pronounce it!! Luba was a wonderfully kind human being. I shall never forget the fun we had together. She had been so much on my mind the past 3 weeks. I was desperate to get ahold of her. A premonition---I wonder. I was in contact with Marvin who couldn't help me. I wrote Nancy on facebook with no answer. Nancy please call me (317)997-0595, I can not attend her funeral as I have moved to Florida but know that I will be there in spirit dancing Makedonski Devoce with all of you!! I remember Luba as one the kindest, sweetest and best dressed women at folk dance. The greatest gift she gave to me was to introduce me to my cousin who, although we both grew up on the west side of Indianapolis, had never met. We often do not cross paths with our relatives even in the same city. I knew about her, because my dad told me about the family, but we never met until Luba, who attended the same church, got us together. A wonderful gift to be able to enlarge your family. The entire folk dance group will never forget her and we hope that she is reunited with family and friend alike. Thanks to Nancy who was the best daughter anyone could ask for and who cared for Luba in her elder years.
My condolences to Luba's family. I so enjoyed my time dancing with Luba. Her bright smile, interesting stories and friendly demeanor made folkdancing even more fun.

By the time I moved to Indianapolis, Luba had "retired" from active folk dancing, but over the last several year it has been a real pleasure meeting her socially and sharing a few dances with her at the St. Stephens' dinner-dance events. Our local long-time folk dancers remember her fondly and it seems appropriate the that next time we meet we should dedicate our traditional last dance, Makedonsko Devojce, to commemorate her last dance.
