Obituary of Emerson Forrest Davis, Jr.

Emerson Forrest Davis, Jr. was born on September 15, 1942 and passed away in the presence of family on October 20, 2020. Emerson attended Park School (Class of 1960) where he discovered a love for baseball, football, and basketball. He attended DePauw University where a football injury prohibited him from accepting a position on a semipro baseball team. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He then returned to Indianapolis with his young and growing family. He was co-owner of Emerson Davis Insurance Agency in Indianapolis. In later years he was the owner of Action Fence Company. Emerson took great pleasure in supporting his children’s sporting endeavors. He coached CYO basketball and football, and little league baseball. His favorite past times included; dancing, fishing, camping, boating, poker and euchre. He especially enjoyed spending time at the cabin at Lake Cataract. He was a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Cub. He is survived by his former wife of 44 years Carolyn (Collins) Davis and their children Megan Edelson (Jim Key), Amy(Bryan) Jones, Christina (Worden) Stricker, Emerson (Erin) Davis. His brother Dr. Donald (Diane) Davis of Austin, Texas. Grandchildren Nick, Noah, Ben, and Lily Sticker, Riley and Zachary Worden, Reid Jones, Dakota and Jameson Davis, Ethan and Norah Key, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Emerson F. Sr. and Elizabeth Jane (Kissel) Davis, his sons Zachary Michael Davis, and Bobby Worden, and his grandson Chandler Stricker.
