Obituary of Joseph G. Huneck
Joseph G. Huneck, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 4, 2020. Joseph was born in Marion, IN to Gilbert H. and Frances (Boleman) Huneck on May 4, 1929. Joseph attended and graduated from Tri-State University where he received his degree in mechanical engineering. Joseph served proudly and bravely in the US Army and will be laid to rest in Marion National Cemetery. Joseph worked for General Motors for 33 years and was with the A team at MIT and helped to develop the inertial guidance system for the Appolo II. He loved hiking, back packing, skiing down hill and cross- country. His favorite hobby was biking and rode with the “Low Riders” for many years. They would ride 40 to 60 miles in a day. Once every year they would ride from Kokomo to Lafayette in a day, a trip over 100 miles. He also rode in 3 Habitat for Humanity fundraisers which was 350 miles in a week. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Anastasia Huneck; sons Kevin, Gary, and James Huneck; daughters, Kathy Dunnuck and Kara Kaufman; six grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
