Condolences
Olga Shaneff was unique. She was a woman of intellect and wit. She spread humor and joy in a way very few people can.
When I think of Olga I always picture her smiling. She had style and grace and was a genuinely kind human. I can honestly
say that I loved Olga and am a better person for having known her. Memory eternal. Bog da Prosti....
My Teta was an amazing lady. As a child, I have vivid memories of going to visit Uncle Stevie, Angeline and and Tadorka for many occasions: birthdays, name days etc. Teta always was busy in the kitchen with her apron on to help serve and greet every guest.... making them feel welcome and special. No one ever left hungry! Teta was the host with the most! She had Halloween parties and birthday parties for us cousins in the basement, or we would just stop by and visit with Teta on the backporch. No matter what time of day or occasion, Teta was always full of energy and would welcome us in to her home!
Teta always gave me a big hug and told me how much she loved me. Every time I saw her! What I really remember is her beautiful smile and twinkle in her eye. There was a little “mischievousness” in her I think!
We have photo of Teta when she and Uncle Stevie got engaged. She looks like a “Vogue” Model! Beautiful black dress and gorgeous hat... and gloves too! She looks like she stepped off a Paris runway show.
I also was lucky to see her with her sister, my Baba Lenka. Teta would come to the house on Warman and they would laugh and tell stories and tease each other over Turkish coffee in the front room. Then they would go visit Baba Pruska across the street to watch the “stories”. Three wonderful women I am blessed to have known and have special memories of forever.
Memory eternal
