Obituary of Shirley A Froelich

Shirley A. Froelich, 83, of Indianapolis passed away on March 10, 2019. Shirley was born on March 18, 1935 to Elmer and Aline (Sherron) Padgett. Shirley was a life-time resident of Indianapolis and attended George Washington High School.

Shirley worked for the Indiana University School of Law from 1955-1956. In 1973, Shirley graduated from the  Indianapolis School of Practical Nursing. After-which, she worked for Wishard Hospital's Newborn Nursery, until 1987.

However, her greatest passion was taking care of her family. Growing-up during difficult times, Shirley valued her family and time with her family, more-than any luxury. Often telling her loved ones "each time she is with family was a ray of sunshine in her life." Shirley was also the matriarch of the family. She adhered to solid traditions and never passed an opportunity to celebrate an occasion with her family. One of family's most beloved traditions, was receiving $10 on their birthday, regardless of the individual's age.

Additionally, Shirley was a lady and a person of strength. She always made others feel welcomed and comfortable. She will also be remembered as fun, charismatic, and feisty. For the people who loved her, Shirley will be remembered as: Sister, Aunt, Mom, Friend, and to many-Grandma.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elizabeth M. (Padgett) Doss; brothers, Elmer Padgett Jr., Cecil E. Padgett, Harold A. Padgett; son, Matthew F. Froelich; husband, Leroy F. Froelich. She is survived by her son, Mark L. Froelich; four grandsons, Johnathon M. Froelich (Lisa), Kyle M. Froelich (Chelsea), Christopher L. Froelich, Kraig M. Froelich; and great grandchildren, Abygail Fleece and Wyatt Froelich
