Berta, and, Bill’s family, we are so sorry for your loss.
Bill was among the most intelligent, perceptive, tolerant men in our world. We will miss his easy laugh and quick wit! He always brought a readiness and openness to whatever may come, welcoming something new or fresh to spark his interest.
Even when he had cause to feel sorry for himself, he did not put his pain or worry upon us. Instead, he offered a willing hand and kind heart.
We are better people for having known Bill Gardner. We often walked away from visiting with him, feeling uplifted and energized. We took with us, an urge to mimic his genuine response to our comments, and, Life, with “Well, Sure!” and “Yes!”
