Obituary of Mussetta M. Osborn
Mussetta Marie (Smith) Osborn was born May 27, 1958, to Kirby and Ruth Smith. Mussetta was married to Lester Osborn for 34 years, who preceded her in death. Together they had two sons, Lester Jr., who also preceded her in death and son, Russell.
Everyone that knew Mussetta loved and respected her. She had a way about her that just made you love her. She always worked hard to provide a great life for her family. Some might say she worked too hard. Even during her fight with cancer she rarely missed work during her treatments. Most people would go home and rest but not our Mussetta who was committed to her job and never let anyone pick up her slack.
Mussetta was the strongest woman we had the pleasure of knowing. During these last few months of her life her pain level was normally rated a 6 or 7. She endured this pain and never complained so she could spend time with her family. Even in the most tiring parts of her life, she always put others first and cared greatly for her family and friends.
One of Mussetta’s favorite things to do was to spend time with her granddaughter Haley. They often went shopping and watched lifetime movies together. She loved sweet tea, the Colts and her dog, Dakota. Mussetta also enjoyed spending time with her son, Russell whom she could always count on and her daughter-in-law and best friend Sharon. She also had a loving fiance, Bob, who adored his sweetie Mussetta. Bob never left Mussetta’s side and always took care of her. Her family and friends believed he was truly a heaven sent. Mussetta always enjoyed spending time with her sisters Vicki and Mary. They loved going to Colts games and taking vacations together. Mussetta loved spending time with all her family at parties and was always ready to go do things.
Mussetta was a strong willed woman who worked hard her entire life and never once complained. Everyone who knew her looked up to her in so many ways. She was an incredible and loving woman who endured much throughout her life and who was taken away from us too soon. Words cannot describe what a wonderful woman Mussetta was. The struggle and pain is over for her, but now it is time for her to be at peace. Mussetta will be missed dearly by everyone in her life.
Survivors include son, Russell (Sharon) Osborn; granddaughter, Haley Osborn; sisters, Vicki (Lonnie) Powell and Mary (Chris) Andrews; brother, Kirby (Teresa) Smith; fiancé, Bob Bridgewater; and lots of nieces and nephews.
