I was a roommate of Frank's in a large group house in downtown Washington, just before he joined the Foreign Service in the early 1980s. I visited him once in Quebec City, which was his first foreign posting, but lost touch after that. Just heard about his passing and am very saddened by the news. He was the nicest guy, always kind and friendly.
I was a Marine Embassy Guard in Sierra Leone and just tonight going through old thinks found Ambassador Urbanics business card and so disheartened to hear of his passing even though it’s 4 years since his passing. I do not know if the family will see this but Frank was a great mentor and someone I always looked up to. He loved the foreign service and I was proud to serve along side him
Michelle and kids, family
I just learned of Frank's death. My condolences.
I hope you all can find some comfort in the positive memories from your life together.
My deep condolences go to the Urbancic family. Franck and I had a professional association in Morocco over the course of a few years.
Franck often spoke of his young son, whom had spent some time in Ethiopia, and one could see how his eyes lit up with pride whenever he did.
I will miss Franck very much.
May the Lord grant strength and perseverance to the Urbancic family in these trying times.
Amen,

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I worked with Frank in Abu Dhabi and again in Kuwait and I have never known a kinder person. His love for his family was always first in his mind and when he talked about Frankie and Arlette, his face would light up -- you were his world. I know you all have beautiful memories of him as your husband and father. Those of us privileged to work with him have memories of his kindness and love for life and his family.

I served under Ambassador Urbancic when he was Consul General in Istanbul and again when he was the Principle Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism. He was an honorable man who lived a life of significance. Maya and I offer our deepest condolences. Joe and Maya Cole
Dear Michelle and kids, I learned with great sadness that Frank passed away. I had the honor to work for him in Istanbul; as a matter of fact, he hired me among so many applicants. He taught me a lot and I will miss him dearly. You will all be in our prayers. May he rest in peace.
I was stunned to learn just today of Frank Urbancic's sudden death in Morocco. Frank was a dedicated, courageous, energetic Foreign Service colleague with whom I was privileged to serve at two overseas missions, Qatar in the 1980s and Turkey, early in this century, where he was the U.S. Consul General. I have many vivid memories of our time and work together. His family, to whom I extend my profound sympathy and condolences, should rest assured that Frank made his mark in this life and will be greatly missed.
We are so sorry for the everyone's loss. We appreciate the Urbancic family very much! They are a great group of people! This is our loss but God's gain! Take care all!
Dearest Michelle,
My heart goes out to you and your children. Many prayers and thoughts of you at this most difficult time. We will always remember our time together in Istanbul. Hugs, Nancy and Juan Alsace
Although I did not know Frank personally, we shared a gardener here in Rabat, Mohamed El Haoudi. Mohamed spoke to me at length of Frank after his passing, repeatedly describing him as a wonderfully kind gentleman. Mohamed, who is Muslim, also told me that death is simply the ultimate stage of life, and that he knew Allah would hold Frank close to him in "Jannah" (heaven). My sincere condolences to his family.
My condolences to you and your family. He will be greatly missed by all.
We are sorry for your loss. Praying for strength, peace, and comfort to all the family.
Love,
Kays family
Dear Michelle: We were shocked and saddened to hear of Frank's untimely passing. Over the course of thirty years, since we were all together in Riyadh, Frank has been a friend and valued colleague. I saw him in Rabat just a year ago and he was as full of life and good humor as ever. He will be greatly missed.
Please accept our deepest condolences.
Best regards,
Jerry Feierstein
May Frank's family and friends rest with the knowledge and memory of Frank's dedicated service to our country. He will be missed, but not forgotten!

A gentle and noble soul. Great leader and a father. I always remember you playing with your children, on a lazy sunday Istanbul afternoon. It was an honor working for you. May your soul rest in heaven.

Michelle and Family .... extremely sorry to hear of Frank's unexpected passing. He was one of my oldest FS friends. Whenever we met over the years, on post or not, such meetings were always pleasant and thought-provoking. He was an individual who accomplished much and yet always kept his feet on the ground with a strong sense of common humanity.
He will be missed.
Steve, Dianne and family. .
Condolences to Frank's family. He was a wonderful Ambassador for the United States and a good friend of American veterans here in Melbourne Australia. R.I.P.
I'm very sorry to hear of Frank's passing. I was living in Melbourne when Frank had his assignment in Australia. I remember celebrating July 4th on the boat with Frank and his family along with the Australian American Society. We all had fun that night and his wife and children were very nice.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts.

Frank was a great diplomat and a Senior Foreign Servant who never forgot to recognize and respect all who worked with him.
Fair winds ans calm seas Frank! The journey Continues.
My wife, Betty Taylor, and I met Frank during his assignment in Melbourne Australia. No one could have represented America and our ideals more graciously and effectively than Frank did. Always positive and friendly, he made very good friends here. He was greatly missed when he moved on, and we are saddened to hear of his passing. Our sincere condolences go to his family.
Frank will be missed greatly by me and others that worked with him. I worked with him when he was the Consul General Melbourne, AU 2011-2013. He was a wonderful boss and friend. Thought and prayers to his family
What a distinguished career Frank has enjoyed and from which we have all benefitted. It's gratifying to hear of a former student at Brebeuf having done so well. Sorry to hear of his passing.
Dear Michelle, I'm indeed saddened to hear of Frank's passing. I have ofyen thought of both of you since Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and I have the fondness memories of both of you. May God bless you and give you the strength to persevere his passing. We have a saying that says death is the only thing that is born large and grow smaller with time. أن لله وأن إليه راجعون .
