Obituary of Rita M. Paradise

Rita Marie Paradise, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015. Rita was born on May 23, 1932 to William C. and Georgia (Whitehead) Baar, both precede her in death. Also preceding her in death was one son, Gary Michael. Rita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1951 and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Rita was employed by L.S. Ayres department store prior to co-founding Paradise Machine and Tool, where she operated the business with her husband and family until her retirement in 1998. Rita enjoyed her retirement, especially enjoying the 27 winters she spent in Arizona with her loving husband of 63 years, Mr. Francis Paradise, to whom she leaves to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her children, Dennis (Georgianna) Paradise, Debra (David) Andrewski, Mark Paradise and Jeanne (Kevin) Thompson; eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Schmalz. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 pm at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St. Indpls, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 West 16th St., Speedway. Rita Marie Paradise will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
