Am so sorry to hear about Tom. I worked with Tom via the computer dept. and production dept. I will always remember Tom as a very gracious and honest person. He always seemed so healthy; doing all the right things. I thought he would be around long after I was gone. But God had other plans. God bless you in this time of joy for his life and sadness for your loss.

I worked in the composing room many years. I got to know Tom from the nearness of our two areas.

Looking back I remember there was something special about Tom. He had a gentle kindness and the eyes of Christ.

Some day we will all see him with our savior.

My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy but I hope you will be comforted by God's word the bible that says there is going to be a resurrection. Acts 24:15 says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous, and with that promise it is possible for you to see him again. We are given more hope and comfort at Rev. 21:3,4 that talk about a restored paradise where the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free of sickness, disease and death as we welcome back our dear loved ones. May you be comforted by these bible verses and may you also be comforted by the many wonderful memories of Thomas your loved one at this most difficult time.

I was sorry to learn of Mr Carroll's death. He was an extremely delightful and engaging patient, I was honored to have had the opportunity to care for him over the last 15 years. He recovered remarkably from his pulmonary emboli in 2002. He had mitral valve insufficiency (leak ) for several years but did very well until he had new rupture of several mitral valve chordae (valve tethers) which caused a severe valve leak and congestive heart failure in October 2015. Unfortunately there was no way that his heart was going to be able to compensate for the severe mitral insufficiency(leak) with medical therapy. Since he was so active, even at age 85, I recommended mitral valve surgery. Initially he did well post-operatively, he looked great when I last saw him at the heart hospital. Unfortunately at age 85 if anything goes "wrong" post operatively, it is very difficult to recover. His outlook without surgery was bleak, so he was willing to consider surgery in order to have a chance to resume his previous lifestyle. I am sorry that things did not work out better, but I believe he made the right choice as he was never going to get better without mitral valve surgery. It was a pleasure to be able to care for Me Carroll for the last 15 years, I always enjoyed seeing him in the office or hospital.
