Condolences
Cledis Griffith was a man who wanted to make a difference. A family man and he appeared to like traveling. I'm really sorry for your loss from renal disease. I hope the videos and memories and photo's helps your family with time. John 5:28 say's "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice". This verse comforts me and I hope comforts you about the near future hope of the resurrection. My name is Sherman. And my email is Mr.andersonjr11@gmail. And visit jw.org. I just lost my dad, I hope your days in time get better.
We remember Leon from high school days--his bright red hair and he always had a smile on his face!!
One fond memory I have is how he teased me on the bus going to school #75. Each morning as I boarded the bus, he would greet me with "Hi CarrotTop"!! My Mother had always told me he wouldn't tease you if he didn't like you--I guess Leon was my first red-headed friend!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Linda and family

Mr. Leon was truly an amazing person with a smile and personality that could light up a room. He put up a good fight and will truly be missed. My condolence goes out to his wife and family, may god wrap his arms around you and keep you all safe. be blessed
My favorite football team ever was lead by Leon, particularly in the 53-14 drubbing of Ben Davis in October of 1957. Leon drop-kicked, Jim Thorpe style, an extra point late in the game and also scored a touchdown, which was unusual for a lineman. My dad had taken me to the game at old-BD and, as a ten-year-old, I tried to speak to all of the players as they boarded the bus after the game and also at halftime. Jacktown neighbors Bubby Stockhoff and Bill Green, Frank Opp, Wendell Brown, Howard Earls, Bill Jones, Petey Saunders, sophomore Bill Snowberger, Chuck Hedges and older brothers of my future teammates at GWHS--Dave Sanders, John Arvin and Bernie Keller. Leon continues to be a large part of one of my favorite sports nights ever.

Having known Leon for most of my life, his humor was one of a kind. Peace be with the family-he was a wonderful man.
It has been along time since our football days at GWHS, and then on to great Careers with the Indiana State Police. You were a great friend and I will miss you. The world has lost a good one.
As a dispatcher, I was able to ride on patrol with Griff every now and then. I enjoyed the time I spent with him then and over the years. I learned so much about being Trooper from him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Leon's family and friends. I first met Griff when I was a dispatcher at the old State Police GHQ. He took me for my first ride-along with a trooper. He will be missed; may he rest in everlasting peace. May God Bless. Tom D-ISP Retired; PE 2345
To Linda and family,
My condolences to you in Leon's passing. He was certainly one-of-a-kind. And a sense of humor that had to be experienced to be truly appreciated. We will not be able to attend since we've moved to Cape Coral, FL, but you and the family will be in our prayers.
