I am so sorry for the Stanfield Family and your loss, I lost my Mom last year. I have found death to leave me with a feeling of helplessness. May I leave you this word of encouragement that has helped me. The Bible says at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 that God hates death, and shows it to be an enemy. He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. -Job 14:14,15. Your dad, Inca, was my favorite softball coach all throughout high-school, while Carol and I played on his team together and were best of buds. She and I made the 1964 Indy Women's All-Star team but Inca took all the credit. HaHa Your mom was always on the sidelines and one of our biggest cheerleaders. I never saw Sylvia without a smile on her face, even in her last few years when her health was beginning to fail. It was always nice to see her at Mass at Holy Trinity church on Sunday morning and she never failed to turn around and flash me her famous smile and a "peace" sign during the sign of peace. Sorry to hear about Sylvia. My mom passed on April 18th. I know she was in a nursing home as was my mom. Sylvia was always very nice to me. Sorry I won't be able to attend Thursday. I will be in the hospital for some testing.
