Obituary of Raymond Miklich
Raymond J. Miklich, formally of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at his home in Avon, IN on April 19, 2015 at the age of 87. He was born on December 19, 1927 in Elkhart, IN to Joseph and Mary (Intahar) Miklich. He married Elizabeth A. (Checkley) Miklich on June 22, 1957 in Elkhart.
Mr. Miklich served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Always the proud American veteran, Mr. Miklich was usually one of the first to stand and remove his hat in respect of the US Flag or when any of the military service theme songs were being played. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Elk's and Moose Lodge in Elkhart. Mr. Miklich attended St. Vincent's Elementary School and Elkhart High School. He worked for many years for Moore's Cleaners. He retired from Jayco Recreational Vehicle Corporation at the age of 62 and later worked for Coachman Industries until relocating to the Indianapolis metropolitan area in 2004. He enjoyed playing golf, dancing, working in the yard, spending time with his family and friends and his most beloved wife of 58 years.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Josephine Riley and Ann Visingardi and a granddaughter, Elaine Pishon.
He is survived by his loving wife; two daughters, Marianne Benjamin of Indianapolis and Christine (Mark) Pishon of Zionsville; two sons, Joseph Miklich of Indianapolis and Steven Miklich of Bristol; three grandchildren, Sydney Miklich, Joshua Pishon and Lucas Pishon; brother in law, George Visingardi and two special loved ones, Kathleen Holmes and Michelle Laizure.
Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, April 27 from 10 am - 12 pm with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm in St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E. Main St., Plainfield.
