Obituary of Ralph Hilbert
Ralph R. Hilbert, 85, of Indianapolis passed away on March 14, 2015. He was born in Ozark, MI to Walter Hilbert and Golda (Burket) Wise, whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Robert Hilbert.
Ralph graduated from Arsenal Tech High School and proudly served six years in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Guam and trained as an A & P Mechanic on B-29 Bombers. Ralph went on to work for Delta Airlines as an aircraft mechanic for 33 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ralph enjoyed working on cars and anything with an engine. His kind and giving nature was felt by so many by helping all those in need. Ralph would fix or repair small engines and cars for friends and neighbors. He was always giving of himself.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Wilma Lorene Hilbert; sons Andrew J., Boyd J. and Russell W. Hilbert; grandchildren, Bruce D., Logan L., and Tommy L. Hilbert; great grand-children, Devin L. Hilbert, Meridian D. Belcher, Lillian O. Belcher, Heavan L. Hilbert and aunt, Louise Cramer.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery on March 20, 2015. The Marion County Veterans Burial team will provide military honor guard services.
