Obituary of Arlene Coss

Arlene F. Coss, 59, of Indianapolis passed away December 26, 2014. She was born September 19, 1955 in Covington, KY to Bobby Lee and Nancy Lee Courtney, both preceding her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister Tina Courtney-Alridge. Arlene devoted her career to helping others. A registered nurse and healthcare worker, she retired from Indiana University Health, formerly Clarian Health Care. Arlene was an avid volunteer, aiding others at the Bloom Senior Living and Summit Place. She loved her family and adored her nieces and nephews. Arlene enjoyed arts and crafts, and had a passion for jewelry making. She is survived by sisters Tonia (Eric) Hambrick of Batesville, IN, Jackie (Steve) O'Rear of Madison, IN, Mary Jo (Steve) Perry of Greenfield, IN; brother Bob (Tammy) Courtney of Madison, Indiana; nieces Jennifer Hambrick, Heather Hambrick - Walston, Rebecca Rice, Megan Mitchell and Lindsay Courtney; nephews Aaron Hambrick, Michael Perry, Miles Courtney and Alex Perry; great-nieces Mallory Rice, Courtney Sellers, Maddie Mitchell, Nancy Lee Walston and Rami Stewart; great-nephew Isaac Hambrick; aunts Brenda Wells and Jean Bishop of Falmouth, KY. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 11 am - 1 pm with a memorial service at 1 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. Graveside committal services are schedule for Saturday January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana. Following the graveside the family is hosting a reception in honor of Arlene at the Fountain Building at 402 West Main Street in downtown Madison. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Lide White Memorial Boys & Girls Club "Courtney Family Memorial Scholarship Fund" 1551 MSH North Lane Madison, IN 47250.
