Condolences
My prayers to the Borshoff family for the loss of Mr. Borshoff! He was one of my favorite teachers at Tech H.S. a true Role Model for us all. He helped so many of us understand and fall in love with Algebra. I happened to be in his class when word came that President Kennedy has died. I remember him sitting on the corner of his desk and crying. He was always doing something at the school to help the students and to keep any strife under control. I ran into him several years later in my late 20's and let him know what an impression he left in my life and thanked him. The World has lost a special Man with his death but Heaven has gained an Angel! Rest In Peace Mr. Borshoff!

Dearest Dad, we know you are now at peace. We love you and until we meet again. David & Alessia
There are so many stories I have of Mr. Borshoff, but I must share the one that means the most. I and a few of my friends embraced being called nerds, that we started a new club. I was called the #1 nerd, Donald Kaufman was #2 and Fred Combs #3. We had decided to name Mr. Borshoff, Papa nerd. We bought him a sweatshirt in school colors of course and in white letters on the back it said "Papa Nerd" I am saddened at the fact that his family will miss a very special man who has touched so many lives with his work.
Ellen, so sorry to hear of Jim's death. I will surely miss him!! He was a lot of fun as a customer at MCL. My prayers are with you & your family! Sure hope you will come visit me again at MCL, we have been missing you! Love & prayers, Linda
I send my deepest condolences to the Borshoff family. I have fond memories of Jim at Tech High School. He was one of my pinnacle playing partners as we waited for evening school classes to begin. Some family members may remember names like Clyde Smith, Ebert Smith, Bob Ford, John Miner and Ernie Holmes. We played for a "penny a point" so loosing was a big deal - none of us liked loosing but to add insult to injury we had to pay off each other. Jim was great fun to play cards with and we talked about it many times after we retired. Thank You Jim for Your Friendship and Laughs.
My condolences go out to the entire Borshoff family. In this time of grief may you take comfort in knowing that Mr. Borshoff is in a better, more comfortable place. God Bless.
Jim has always been a great friend. As a fellow Butler Grad and fellow teacher, we spent a lot of time discussing Butler University, Butler Basketball, and anything and everything related to education. Jim also gave me the gentle nudge to begin serving at church, ultimately leading me to become the Senior Altar Server, and now Subdeacon at church. I feel he had a lot to do with this new job and life of mine. For this, and years of true friendship, I say "Thank You" to Jim. Also, may God provide comfort for his entire family. God Bless... George
