Condolences
I apologize for just hearing about your loss Cathy. I worked for Tom at the Indiana Department of Highways in the 1980's. He was my first boss out of college (IU) and I still carry the memories of those first years of my professional career with me today. Tom had a dynamic, sincere, confident leadership style that made coming to work fun. He left a lasting impression with me, as to what made a productive work place. I then tried to replicate those qualities, as I moved up the ranks of management, through my career. But most importantly, Tom was a genuinely kind individual who mentored me, before I knew what 'mentoring' was. He was just a great boss, a good guy and wonderful man that I'm glad to have known. God bless you and Tom. My thoughts are with you.
Cathy, Pam, Bruce, Brian and Bob, We send our heartfelt sympathy, prayers and thoughts for you all. Love, Ron and Jane
Tom and I go back to our days as little kids. My grandmother only lived about a block from George and Wilburena, so every time I came to Jasonville, I went to Tom's. I think I played my first game of catch in Tom's alley with George showing me how to throw. We spent a great deal of time terrorizing Meridian St. In high school I remember Tom could always tell a great story and make us laugh. Even though I haven't seen Tom for years, he always remained a true friend. I know he grew into a great person. Cathy, you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. This news saddens me tremendously. What a wonderful person, who was such a delight to talk to and be around. My sincerest condolences Cathy.
I was so sorry to hear this news. Tom and I were childhood friends and spent a lot of time with each other in the summers as I stayed with my grandmother who lived next door to him. Cathy, I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. What a wonderful man and a friend to all. He made our high school years fun. Once you met Tom, you had a friend for life. He will be missed by many but none so much as Cathy. Prayers will continue for her and the family.
When you have a good friend for 60 years, it is hard to describe the loss right now. There are so many great memories from the grade school, high school, college years at IU, and married years Cathy, it would take too long to describe all the good times together. Tom was a great guy who touched many people with his caring friendship and sense of humor that was much like his wonderful dad, George. Although we did not see each other as much in later years, we could always pick up right were we left off. I will miss him and pray for Cathy in this time of grief.
Tom touched so many lives especially those of us who grew up together with him. I always looked forward to seeing him at the Jasonville Open and get a chance to talk about our lives growing up. He always ask about other classmates and friends. What a great, fun guy to be around. We will all miss him. Jane and I send our best to Cathy and family. As we go forward, I know the world will not be the same without him. However, I feel so blessed that I knew him and we remained friends all of these years.
All I can say is what a great guy Tom is. Had many good times and laughs. He will be missed by our golf group. I am so glad to have had him as a friend. Our prayers are with you Cathy.
Tom, I will miss you buddy. Our memories go all the way back to our family trips in the 1950"s and 60's to St Louis to see your Cardinals and my Giants play. And how many golf games have we played together over the years? Never failed to have a good time with you,Tom. No one is funnier and could tell a great story like you, your mom and dad. It is just not going to be the same. Last Saturday after the end of the Shakamak baseball game we shook hands and I said good bye. Who in the world would have imagined. My thoughts and prayers to Cathy.
