Obituary of William Radez

William Robert Radez Sr., 88, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on April 25, 2014. Bill was born in Indianapolis on July 20, 1925 to John and Mary Louise (Cirja) Radez, both preceding him in death. Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank, Carl and John; sisters, Margaret, Stephanie and Frances. He was a graduate from Washington High School. He entered the US Army during the Korean War and served from 1951 - 1953 and was honorably discharged earning the rank of Corporal. Bill became a Tool and Die Maker for PR Mallory; Switzer Corporation and retired from the USPS. Bill could be seen working security at turn one short shoot at the Indianapolis 500 during the month of May from 1990 - 1997 and was an usher during the Indianapolis Colts Games from 1992 - 1996 at the Hoosier/RCA Dome. Bill is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, John (Tammy) and William Jr. (Lisa); sister Rose Hickman; grand-daughter, Samantha bringing him great grand-daughter, Heidi; grandsons, Walker and Joey and other family and friends. The family wishes to thank the VA CLC in Danville, IL and VAMC Indianapolis for their professional services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday May 2, 2014 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 901 N. Holmes Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46222, with visitation from 9 AM until time of Mass. Interment will follow immediately at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2446 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46222. Arrangements entrusted to Stevens Mortuary.
