Obituary of Linda Welmer
Linda Kathleen (Armstrong) Welmer, 65, passed away in St. Petersburg, FL on November 15, 2013. She was born February 12, 1948 in Montpelier, Ohio to the late William Earl and Myrtle Agnes (Schaffer) Armstrong.
Linda retired from Northwest Airlines in August of 2003, having worked in Indianapolis for 16 years.
Friends and Loved Ones-Seldom, if ever, does a person get a chance to meet and marry their soul mate and split apart. I was one of the fortunate ones. Linda Kathleen completed me. Her zest for life, sky diving, glider planes, bungee jumps and zip lining and slot machines only paled in comparison to the love for her friends and family, especially her 8 grandkids. The cutting edge approach carried over to her treatment for her colon cancer we found in May of 2012. Words can never express our gratitude to the IU Simon Cancer Research Center as well as Florida Cancer Specialists for their compassion and wonderful care . Also the thoughts, words , love and prayers from everyone are something I will never forget. I know one thing for sure, if our Heavenly Father ever needs a second opinion, he need look no further than Linda. Linda was and always will be the love of my life. Thanks for all your love and support.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Beck and four brothers, Bill, Earl, Larry and Gene Armstrong.
Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 13 years, Steven Welmer, whom she married on July 8, 2000. She is also survived by her daughters, Amy (Rob) Beck Good, Missy (Rick) Welmer Snyder and Stephanie (Brandon) Welmer Farrell; eight grandchildren, Blake (Helen) Albers, Bailey Beck, Conner Good, Dawson Hood, Max Good, Graham Farrell, Kennedy Farrell and Hudson Farrell; the first great grandchild is expected to arrive this April and sisters, Pat Hay and Shirley Tibbs.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20 from 12 pm to 2 pm with funeral services at 2 pm in Westlake Church of God, 6696 Rockville Road, Indpls. Burial will be held in Columbia Cemetery in Edon, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions please be made to the IU Simon Cancer Center. Please make memorial gifts payable to IU FOUNDATION.
