Obituary of Mina Adams

Mina Adams, 83, of Brownsburg passed away November 12, 2013. She was born August 10, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Albert and Edna (Harvey) Brown, both preceding her in death. Having a true gift and love for children, Mina offered her time as a care giver and foster parent, while she also owned and operated a home day care for 30 years. She also had a special gift with animals. She had a strong faith in Jesus that carried her through life's difficult times. She was a strong, independent woman that overcame adversaries in her life. She was a member of Lakeview Christian Church and the Senior Saints Sunday school class. Mina was a giving person who with very limited funds would still make small donations to various organizations for feeding the hungry such as Wheeler Missions, Orphanages, animal shelters and medical research. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Mina was also an Avon Sales Representative and she loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Raphena Wiley and Nellie Arnold; brother, Jimmy Fields and Richard Brown and grandson, Thomas Bolling. She is survived by her children, Mark (Linda) Parsons, Vicki (Lyndell) Judd, Denise (Ron) Nelson and William Adams; brothers, Phil Davis and Ben (Helen) Davis; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 1 pm also at the mortuary. Burial will be held in West Ridge Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
