Many of my favorite childhood memories were made while playing with Amy at her house. Her mother, Stella was a deeply religious woman, devoted mother, and gracious woman to all of the neighborhood children. I remember her cooking or cleaning everytime I was in her home, which was always immaculate. She always had a smile, a kind word, and made me feel special. Stella was a blessing to me as a child, and a role model to me as a wife and mother, and I'll never forget her and her positive influence in my life.
I still remember Stella taking myself and my sister Darlene to swimming lesson everyday one summer and thinking how my mother will deeply miss her dear friend. I pray someday my mom and Stella will be in heaven together enjoying themselves and taking another small child to swimming lessons. I am very proud to have known Stella. Love Dave Hogue
I learned generosity from Grandma Stella. Grandma Stella and Papaw Earl used to have me at their home when I was on break from school. Every time I was leaving their house for next school semester, Grandma gave me 20$ in secret and told me "shhh..don't tell Papaw this...but buy some books" I was very curious because I am not her biological family member and she was not obligated to support me. But she did every time and I learned to be touched by her generous heart. Not only this, she and Earl treated me like their another grandchildren. Last visit before I went back to my home country, I told grandma to thank her for all her love to me and I couldn't return what they have done to me. Grandma said "don't return anything to me...you do give to others God will give you in your life". I learned so many other virtues from Grandma Stella. Her faith in Christ I admired the most! ..But his conversation, after depart from USA, I could not forget the most.
Love,
Yoko
The Palmer family has a held special place in our hearts from our time at Westbrook in the mid 1970's. Praying for the family during this time of loss.
I have fond memories of Stella from Eagledale Nazarene Church. she was a wonderful Christian lady with such a sweet spirit and always with a smile. My prayers are with the family that God will comfort you knowing she is at home now.
