Obituary of Karen Nauert

Karen Lee Osborne Nauert, age 47, passed away Sunday, April 7th in her birth city of Indianapolis at St. Vincent's hospital after a long battle with mixed tissue disease. She was the beloved wife of Christopher Nauert; mother of Kelly, Christopher L., Rachelle Killion (David) and Christopher N. and Nanu to Mariah, Christopher, David and Ethan. Karen was born February 23, 1966 to John (predeceased) and Regina Osborne and was the youngest of nine siblings; Patty Osborne (Jim), John Osborne (Jenny), David Osborne (Jan), Steve Osborne, Janie Sullivan (John), Jeanne Foster (Tony), Kathy Briley (Ricky), Susan Osborne (predeceased - Patrick). She graduated from Cardinal Ritter High School in 1984 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1995. That year she was also united in her 17-year marriage with Chris Nauert. She was a selfless soul; she spent her life caring for her patients, family and friends. Her passion in life was helping others and spending time with her loved ones. She home-schooled her son Christopher, 7, even after she could no longer work and remained optimistic for her family and friends until the day of her death. Karen loved the simple things in life like spending time outside in the sun and making people laugh. She was truly a warm and caring person and she has made countless friends in her lifetime. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and nurse to many and although her absence is painful she would want us all to rest easy now that she is at peace. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 12 at 10 am in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 3354 W. 30th St., Indianapolis.
