Obituary of Bonnie Krockenberger
Bonnie Sue Krockenberger, 62, of Indianapolis passed away January 26, 2013. She was born on February 7, 1950 to Donald Leroy and Alma Ethel (Edwards) Rector, both preceding her in death. Bonnie loved her two brothers who also preceded her in death, Harold "Sonny" Rector and Donald "Shorty" Rector.
Bonnie graduated from Garfield High School in Terre Haute, IN and went on to receive her Bachelor's and Master's Degree at Indiana State University. She was retired as a die maker for General Motors and spent many years as a teacher of adult education for Ivy Tech State College. She was a member of the Westside Church of the Nazarene where she had a heart for missionary service. Bonnie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandson. She dearly loved her dog, Clara.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Donald E. Krockenberger to whom she married in 1970; sons, Jason T. and Adam G. (Kelley) Krockenberger; daughter, Sarah B. and grandson, Kyle S. Krockenberger. Bonnie is also survived by her nieces, Vickie Fudge, Lyla Snyder-Rector, Tamara Kear and Michelle Chess.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30 from 4 pm - 7 pm in Westside Church of the Nazarene, 8610 W. 10th St., Indpls. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 31 at 10 am with one hour visitation prior, also at the church. Interment will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
Bonnie served on the mission field at Shepard Community , Taiwan, Peru, Costa Rica, Guyana, Swaziland, Alaska, post Katrina Mississippi and into the Amazon jungle. She loved to travel and has been to every state in the USA, as well as Mexico, Canada, England, the Caribbean, China, Aruba, Swaziland, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and more.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Koinonia Class Mission Fund of the Westside Church of the Nazarene, 8610 W. 10th. Street, Indianapolis, IN 46234 or the Gideons, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 in memory of Bonnie.
