Obituary of Harold Brown
Harold X. Brown, age 93, died on October 10, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Harold was born November 8, 1918, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Harry James Brown and Isabelle Ross. Harold served in the US Army from June of 1942 to November of 1945 in the United States and in Europe as a member of the Signal Company of the 82nd Airborne Division.
Harold received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska in 1953 with majors in Physics and Mathematics. He worked in the field of reliability at Chance Vought Aircraft, Temco Aircraft and at Allison Division of General Motors. His primary interests were the measurement and prediction of reliability.
After retiring from GM in 1988, Harold volunteered at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis explaining the water clock to school groups and was a devoted member of the Scientech Club.
He was preceded in death by his Wife of 64 years, Gladys J. Brown and his Sister Lois Dorsey. He is survived by his daughters Michell (Charles) Fraley and Melodie (Jonathan) Usher, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and brother Robert Brown.
