Bar, I don't even know where to begin..... so many stories, so many memories. Its still hard to believe you're gone. You have been at every major event in my life, even the birth of Sophia, which was unplanned!!! Bar had flown in to Texas for my baby shower, however, Sophia, who had different plans, decided to place me in the hospital. So instead of being there for a baby shower, Bar was there for the birth of her great granddaughter, Sophia Grace. I will always remember that, and share that story with Sophia, amongst many others. I remember playing Barbies with Bar, we would line them all up and count them. And wash their hair!! We would watching Singing in the Rain together, go to Phar-Mor, "garagin'", ceramic classes together, the library....so many more! Bar was a major major part of my childhood and adulthood, and I'm so blessed to be as close to my grandmother as I was. I have so many memories, so many stories...I love you Bar so much. Thank you for everything, for the memories, for the love, for being you. XOXO LOL
Bar, I have so many memories with you it's hard to choose just one. So I will name a few of them. First of all you were the first and really only mother figure for me. Which means that you meant more than me than most people will ever know. You and I made the best fried chicken and that is one of my first memories with you. We would go to all the garage sales on saturdays and you even let me drive once as long as I didnt tell my dad :) I helped you with your St Vincent newsletters and met all your friends at JoAnn Fabrics! You came to Oprah with me and got to see your favorite talk show host in person, I was so happy because I knew how much it meant to you. You didnt stop smiling the whole time we were there. My favorite memory, however, would have to be when you took me to your Uncle Buzz's house for a christmas party and ice was everywhere. We were leaving and holding onto each other because it was so icy. You slipped and fell and took me down with you. We just laid on the cold icy pavement laughing so hard we started crying. Your laugh was contagious Bar and no one will ever forget it or your smile. You are in our hearts forever and we all have tons of happy memories with you. What was so special about you Bar was the fact you could hang out with your Grandkids and joke around like you were one of us. You never were afraid to show your crazy, fun, wild side and that will always make you the best Grandma ever. Party it up with Elvis, hang out with Casper and visit with your parents. Bar...it's time for you to take your own special vacation. I love you so very much and you will always have a special place in my heart.
We send our sympathy for your loss. I remember Mrs. Quattrocchi hosting our gradeschool basketball team for get-togethers. A great lady. God bless the family.
So sorry to hear of your loss. My parents Dean & Jack Waggoner were Mary Jane & Charlie's neighbors in Eagledale many years ago. My mom said that they were such nice people. I remember my sister Sharon and Philip shared their first kiss through the fence. We are praying for your family. God bless, Linda Waggoner Woodburn
Mary Jane was my first friend when my Dad sent me to Holy Trinity Catholic school when I was in the fifth grade. She made me feel accepted and loved in a very scary and new community at my tender age of ten years old. You, she and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
What a pleasure to get to know Mary Jane and Charlie while I have lived at the Islands. Although our lives were different, Mary Jane always had a warm smile to share and a friendly greeting. My memories will always be fond as I watched Mary Jane, Charlie and Dimples sail off on their boat to enjoy the beauty and lifestyle of the Islands. May you rest in peace....
Phil: My deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. Whenever I happened to see her, she was always so nice and cheerful. She had even remembered who I was even though it had been years since she saw me last as a kid at St. Michael's. My prayers to your entire family at this sad time.
Charlie and family. So sorry to hear of Mary Janes passing. She was a fun loving person and will be missed by so many. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Ray and Arleen Krebs
