Obituary of William Hyatte
William Joseph Hyatte entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
Joe, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was born on May 14, 1940 to Thomas and Bertha Hyatte in Lexington, Kentucky. He came to Indianapolis at an early age where he attended IPS schools and Crispus Attucks. Joe entered the United States Air Force at age eighteen where he served honorably for eight years.
Joe was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharist Minister, greeter and counter.
Joe retired from Allied Barton Security Co. as a security officer in February 2012. There he received numerous awards and accolades for being an outstanding employee.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 249 where he was elected to the position of Financial Officer and oversaw the building of Post 249's new facility. His favorite past times was reading, cross words and playing cards.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Natalie Frances Hyatte; son, Michael Hyatte; daughter, Sherri Hyatte; grandson, Michael Hyatte II; sister, Deborah Nelson; niece, Dana Drake (Cordell), two great nephews and two great nieces.
A son, Derek Hyatte precedes him in death.
With his wife Natalie, he leaves to cherish his memory, stepchildren, Troy Thomas, Royce Thomas (Monique), Shane Thomas (Tammy), Hope Pace (Michael); grandchildren, Je'Vonie, Kendra, Tyler, Evan, Troy II, Brooklyn, Makayla, Shaylee and Jonah Thomas; aunt and cousins.
