Obituary of Joseph Conerty
Joseph Francis Conerty, 66, passed away peacefully on June 27, surrounded by his family. Joe was born August 29, 1945 to Bob and Mary Catherine (Wiley) Conerty.
Joe is survived by his wife, Kathleen Lucas Conerty, and his sons Robert, Peter and Byron Conerty, daughter-in-law Kara, and grandson Evan Joseph. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Conerty, and sister, Sheila (Chris) Kaufman, in addition to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Walls.
Joe was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was active in Cub Scout Pack 400 and Boy Scout Troop 400. He was an adorer at the Divine Mercy Chapel. Joe was known as the 'Bee Man' to kindergartners and first graders at St. Michael's School for many years. Joe retired from the V.A, Hospital after 25 years as a Registered Nurse. He also worked at St. Vincent Hospital for several years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W 10th St, Indpls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3354 W 30th St, Indpls. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Joe's family requests contributions be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Joe's family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, Harcourt Terrace Rehabilitation Center, and Seton Specialty Hospital for the skilled, compassionate and loving care they provided over the last four months. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
