David and Norman came to the Indianapolis Zoo in August 2011 when Kubwa had her 3rd baby elephant calf! Baby Kalina loved Norman's pants and shoes which gave Norman the opportunity to have elephant dirt/trunk wetness all over his bottom half!!! Certainly something that doesn't happen every day!! It was a pleasure to enjoy some Zoo time with Norman that day! Kathy Cookerly at the Zoo.
Needless to say, Marie and I were very much saddened to hear of Norm's passing. We share your loss, too. We held Norm in high esteem, not only as a friend, but his character, also. During our military training and combat flying, I can never remember Norm being anything but cool and collected.
Your Dad was the most positive male role model I had in my life.
My nephew thought (Norm) was Mr. Rogers!
He is surely in Heaven--'cuz if he is not, I have NO CHANCE at all!
Our Church has lost a good one. He was a great guy and had a good lookin' family!
Of all the people I have known, I thought your dad would outlast us all!
I am so sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Legge. The death of a loved one is always a difficult time. May we continue to look forward to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy when things like sickness, pain and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:4). My sincerest condolences are with the family in this time of sorrow.
I will always remember Norm as a kind gentle man. We use to love when his whole family would come visit the farm and hang out. After moving to Florida, I hadn't seen any of the Legge's for several years, and Norm called me when I was working at Disney. He wanted to meet Julie and I which we did and went to dinner with his family at Disney. I always thought that was an extremely kind gesture and I believe it happened twice.
Dave, you are a lot like your dad. I appreciate your corresponce throughout the years. Mrs. Dugan use to write me once or twice a year and update me on all the children and grandchildren. She was a gem too. Your emails and Christmas cards have been very much appreciated. You have a very special family. Blessings to you all. Peggy
You have our deepest sympathy for your loss. Norm was a great man and he will be missed. May he rest in peace.
To the Legge family: We are very saddened at the news of your Father's passing. He was a wonderful, loving and generous man. We offer our sincere condolences and prayers for healing. We all have fond memories.
Dear RuthAnn - I was saddened to hear about your Dad's passing. I have some wonderful memories of our youth and spending time together at each other's homes. As time moves, we often lose track of one another but the fondness of memories will never leave us. I remember your folks as if it were yesterday; they were wonderful people! Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I will not be able to attend the showing or funeral but will be with you in spirit.

Norm and his family were our neighbors for many years when we lived on Centinnial Ave. We remember Norm as a great supporter and tireless worker for St. Michaels Church who made so many valuble contrubintions over many years. Whenever we met he always greeted us with a smile. He dearly loved his family and his community. He will be greatly missed. Jim and Dee Ann Scharfenberger
It was a such a priviledge to meet your dad and share dinner with him twice. I had the great privledge of Anointing him with the Sacrament of the Sick...you could tell how faith-filled he was....may he stand in the light of God's Face. Blessings and prayers to all....Fr.Bill Lugger
Ruthie: I just read about your Dad. So sorry to hear. He was a wonderful man, Husband, Father and Grandfather. He is the epitomy of what every man should strive to be. I have to be in DC this evening so I will not be able to attend his funeral. Please call when you are feeling up to it.

Dear Legge Family, Although I have met Norman a few times I know the Legge family best through my sister in law Ruthann. Parents and siblings help shape a member of a family. Knowing Ruthann I can tell she has been blessed with good parents, brothers and sisters. I wish the legge family my prayers during this sad time. Zarrin Foster (Brian Aull)

Norm Legge was, indeed, a very special man. An extraordinary spirit. Selfless. Humble. Dedicated (to his family, friends, community, and country) Directed (by and in his deep faith). To have known him was to have been in the presence of a man whom radiated the Divine. As others have written, Norm is now reunited with his beloved wife, Janet, and his God in Heaven. Condolences to his beautiful family and friends.
