Carla Jean McKinzie Of Brownsburg, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2009 at Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 25, 1954 to Norma (Williams) Sauer and Carl Sauer. Carla worked several years in insurance sales. She never knew a stranger. She loved church, her grandchildren, playing cards and Dominoes. Carla is survived by her husband Don, father Carl, children Jackie (Keith) Smith, Jeffrey (Rene) Stahl; three step-children Bryan McKinzie, Rachel (John) Tilson, Michelle Matthews, four grandchildren Sydney, Jay, Peyton and Ethan; five step- grandchildren Jessica, Kyle, Andrea, Megan and Shelbey; brothers Steven (Linda) Sauer, Gary (Sarah) Sauer and Tom Sauer. Carla is preceded in death by her mother Norma Jean Sauer, brother Fred Sauer and mother-in-law Stella McKinzie. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m., with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. service Fri. October 23 at Stevens Mortuary and Family Center, 5520 W. 10th St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Sat. Oct. 24 at St. Gabriel Church .
