Obituary of Mary M. Meiring

Mary Kocha Meiring
April 18, 1936 – December 12, 2024

Mary Kocha Meiring, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. Born on April 18, 1936, Mary dedicated her life to her family and their happiness.

Mary was proceeded in death to her husband Anthony “Bud” Meiring Sr. for 52 wonderful years. Together, they built a legacy of love, raising four children: Anthony Wayne Meiring Jr. (married to Kelly Meiring), Roberta Bowman (married to Raymond Bowman), Louis Williams (married to Margie Williams), and the late Gary Williams (married to Teresa Williams).

Mary’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she shared countless memories and special moments. Her grandchildren include Mary Jo Johnston; Marc, Scott, and Ben Williams; Gary Williams, and Tracy Slavens; Tyler, Madison, and Taylor Meiring; and Evan and Paige Lamar. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Macey and Drew Johnston; Levi, Drew, Jayln, Camyl, and Jett Williams; Sophie and Will Slavens; Brooklyn, Alexis, and Jaden Williams; and Brantley and Blake Williams.

Mary will be fondly remembered for her love of game shows, her adventurous spirit at the casino, and her steadfast devotion to her family. She had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, like a strong cup of black coffee. Known for her selflessness and dedication, she always prioritized her family’s well-being above all else.

Mary especially cherished the Christmas season, finding joy in creating special traditions and memories for her loved ones. Though she was occasionally impatient, her heart overflowed with love, generosity, and care for those closest to her.

Family and friends are invited to honor Mary’s life at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W 10th St, Indianapolis, IN, on Friday, December 20th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21st, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2446 S Meridian St, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mary’s legacy of love and devotion will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
