Obituary of Richard Andrew Cotton
Richard A. “Dick” Cotton, 82 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 19, 2024. HE was born on August 5, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA. Preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Matilda Cotton.
Dick served proudly and bravely in the US Air Force. Dick held several different careers, a civil engineer, the owner of a Pizza Shop and Video Store in Speedway, IN and recent employment with Speedway Termite Company. He was well known and loved by so many! Dick went by several nicknames, “Dick”, “Mayor” of his street, “Top Joe Banana”, “Grandpa” and “Papaw”.
Dick was very outgoing having never met a stranger. He was an avid football fan, Golf (hole in one) and the Indy 500.
Survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara A. Cotton, three sons Derek (Connie) Miller, Brian (Charla) Miller and Brandon Miller; six grandchildren eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Richard A. Cotton was so blessed and he believed in our Lord Jesus.
A private family service with Military Honors will be held at Crown Hill National Cemetery.
