Obituary of Candace Clark
Candy Rice Clark was born to Loetta Arnold and William B. Rice on February 14th, 1972 in Indianapolis, IN. She spent her formative years attending Springmill and Northview schools, where her passion for basketball blossomed. She later attended North Central High School, graduating in 1991. Known for her entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, Candy worked at Pizza Hut during her high school years. After graduating from NCHS, Candy pursued her passion for cosmetology, graduating from Cosmetology School in June 1991. She began her career at Lavetia's Hair Salon, where she honed her skills and creativity in hair styling. In 1994, Candy welcomed her beloved son, Xavier, into the world. Determined to further her education, Candy attended PCI (Professional Careers Institute) Dental School in 1997; graduating in 1998. She worked as a dental hygienist from 1998 to 1999. In 1998, Candy married Tracy Clark. Through their union came 2 beautiful children, Alexis Clark in 1998 and Tracy Clark 2002. In 2000, Candy fulfilled her dream of entrepreneurship by founding Candy's Tot Spot daycare, where she lovingly cared for many children over the years. During the course of her building her Daycare, Candy also became a Teachers Aide at College Park Elementary as well as working at MV Transportation to continue supporting her entrepreneurial dream. Candy achieved another milestone by graduating Cum Laude from Brown Mackie College as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She continued to demonstrate her commitment to healthcare and caring for others throughout her career. In 2019, Juale Xavier Clark, Candy's first Grandson was born. He was her light and she was his G'ma Candy dedicated her life to taking care of and raising her beautiful Grandson. If you saw her you saw him. In 2021, Justis Eremias Clark was born, Candy's 2nd Grandson. She was also a devoted caregiver to the FAMILY, always present for her children's milestones, including Xavier's graduation and cherished family holidays. Candy found solace and community at Eastern Star Church. Over the past 10 years, Roy Page Jr. became a significant presence in Candy's life. They traveled together, attended family functions, and he even became Pop-Pop to Candy's two grandson's. Candy will be remembered for her unwavering strength, boundless creativity in making candles and vases, and her deep love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Candy was preceded in death by her Mother, Loetta Gibson Arnold, & Brother Jonathan Arnold. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Xavier Rice, Alexis & Tracy Clark, grandsons, Juale & Justis Clark, Sister Tami Highbaugh-Abdullah, Father William B Rice III, Step Father Leonard Arnold, and a host of loving family & friends.
