Obituary of Jane Reese Thompson

Jane (Reese) Thompson, age 80, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on June 2, 2024, after her fight with cancer. She was born on May 12, 1944, in Indianapolis, IN  to Jay and Frances Reese.  From her hometown of Martinsville, Jane matriculated to Bloomington where she graduated from Indiana University and met her husband, Earl.  After years in teaching, taking care of her family, and selling real estate in Valparaiso, Jane made a home in Carmel, IN. For the last 30 years, she was a trade show queen- selling trade show displays and services for Thompson/Kerr Displays.   When not working, Jane enjoyed staying active, spending time with neighbors, friends, family and her loyal canine companion, “Murphy”.

Jane is now reunited with her parents, brother, Jay, and husband, Earl. She is survived by her son, Eric (Tina) Thompson and daughter, Amy Owens. Also survived by her grandchildren Ron Hicks, Reese Hicks, Charles Thompson, and Alana Owens. As per Jane’s wishes there will not be a funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Jane’s family would like to thank her neighbors in Carmel, Friends and Family throughout the country, as well as the staff at IU Health North for their care and support through Jane’s illness.
