Obituary of James Ronald Barnes
James Ronald Barnes Jr. was born July 13, 1965, in Louisville, KY. On March 28, 2024, James passed away after a very sudden and quick decline of his health, at the young age of 58. He was surrounded by family and friends late that evening when his spirit was received in heaven. His departure comes as a devastating shock and deep wound and is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others, who loved him deeply and had the wonderful privilege of knowing him.
James indeed was an ass, and walked about with an extreme stoic demeanor, but he embodied the best of qualities: Unconditional love, strength of spirit, and unending loyalty that could be seen in his care for his wife, children, family and friends. He was an amazing
man, who touched many lives and was easy to confide in, and gave the best advice, regardless of if it was hard to hear.
He had a great love for the outdoors and absolutely enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a huge Pacers fan, and was the Colts’ biggest fan, despite them getting their butts handed to them every time they played a home game.
James is survived by his wife, Shanita Barnes, his seven children: Morgan, Christopher, Deante, Jania, Brayden, Jaylen, and Janessa, his grandson Kingstyn, his mother, Marge Barnes, his Sister Nina Barnes, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
James will be remembered for his amazing work ethic, his deep love/ borderline obsession for his wife, how much he loved his kids and family, and his loyalty and love for his friends.
