Calgin Slone, 58, of Indianapolis went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2015.Calgin accepted Christ at an early age at the Church of Christ in Borger, TX. Cag (Yogi) was a happy go lucky person. He was a free spirit and was a friend to all he met. In his early days, Calgin loved to travel. Throughout his lifetime he visited many cities and states and could pretty much make any place he landed his home. He returned to Indianapolis in the year 2000 where he resided the remainder of his life. Calgin enjoyed fishing, playing card games with family and friends and Cag loved his groceries. Calgin is preceded in death by his step-father, William L. Smith Jr.; sisters, Gwendolyn A. Slone and Darlene Davis; brothers, Lacey T. Smith Sr. and Richard L. Smith. Calgin is survived by his father, L.D. Slone; mother Barbara J. Smith; eight brothers, Russell Slone of Borger, TX, Marvin (Janet) Cunningham of Pittsburg, PA, Vernon (Janice) Smith Sr., Leonard (Wanda) Smith, Edward Smith, Dwayne Hopkins, Dwight Hopkins and Eugene Smith Jr.; seven sisters, Doris Smith, Nora (Wayne) Watts, Joy (James) Upton of Cincinnati, OH, Karen Smith, Jeanne Walton, Ruth Smith and Floris (Milton) Jenkins of Bradenton, FL; fiance, Sophie Brooks and a very special Aunt who was like his second mother, Sharon Walker; and a host of other family, nephews, nieces and friends.
