Obituary of Samuel Eugene Mullin

Mr. Samuel Eugene Mullin was born September 17, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The son of James Shelby Mullin Sr. and Sammie Patton Mullin, both parents and a sister, Cheryll Marie Mullin all preceded him in death. Samuel was a product of Indianapolis Public Schools. He attended school #23, #43, Shortridge High School and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School. Upon graduation he worked at Peoples Furniture Company, Uniden, Indianapolis Public Schools and Red Lobster. Samuel was baptized at a young age at Mount Paran Baptist Church. He was an active member of Harding Street Church of God for almost 30 years. In the late 80's he was ordained as a Deacon and has been a faithful servant of God ever since. Samuel also served on the Board of Trustees for the IKO Union District Church of God Sanctified. His love of the Lord and his desire to be a servant for Christ led him to work in numerous capacities at his church. Sam would do anything to serve the Lord. He was often the bus driver both for church services and also for members that needed transportation to doctor's appointments and to the grocery; he could always be seen at the church picking up and helping to beautify the church; he diligently worked as a Sunday School teacher; choir member and would do anything that was asked of him. No task was too big or small for Sam as he had a heart to serve. Samuels' faithfulness to the Lord will always be a testimony of his faith. His legacy of always having a caring and compassionate spirit for others will continue to be remembered in all of the lives he touched. Even during his very sick times he was still concerned about uplifting others and always trying to help whenever he could. Samuel will always be remembered for his courage, determination and unrelenting faith during his battle for life. Sam never complained even as he fought his battle with kidney disease. Faith, dignity and grace showed even during his last days. And one thing can be said, even though Sam's body was wracked with pain he never complained. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory, his son Timothy Joseph Mullin, special daughter, Barbara Stewart, two brothers, James Shelby Mullin Jr, and Eric William (Deborah) Mullin; nieces, Nicole Edwards and Shelby Mullin; nephews, Jody Lee and Cameron Mullin; five grandchildren, special cousins, Marvia Williams, Clarice Blake, Paula Smith, Andrea Keno; special friend Barbara Foster.
