Obituary of Charles S. Morton
Charles Silvanus Morton was born on January 20, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN. to Silvanus and Olivia Valentine Morton. Charles resided in Indianapolis, IN. all of his life. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Rochelle Wiggins Morton, daughter Angela Morton Pimpton Rogers (Robert); son, Anthony Morton Sr. and daughter, Cheryl Morton Seagraves (Marvin). Charles attended Indianapolis public school #42 and graduated from Chrispus Attucks High School. Charles received certificates from Attuck for attending 12 grades of schooling and never being absent a day of school and never being late. Charles received scholarships in Art, Auto mechanics and for never receiving a grade lower than an A minus. He played football for Attucks and Northwestern Park Center. Charles excelled in the automotive field and built his own car at the age of 18 years. Charles fell in love with Rochelle Wiggins, his childhood sweetheart and on February 15, 1953 they were married. From this union they had three children, Angela, Anthony and Cheryl Morton. As a young man Charles accepted the Lord as his savior at First Baptist Church Northside and became a Sunday school teacher. Charles and Rochelle were married 63 years at his passing. Charles was the type of man everybody was happy to call him a friend and he treated everybody with respect. He was gifted with a lot of talented from God, especially when applied to Auto and Art. Allison's offered him a job teaching their workers the auto field. He appreciated the offer, but would rather work for himself in the trucking business with his son Anthony. Charles would help anybody and never accepted money. His saying was 'I helped you, and you pass it on'. After being in the trucking business 50 years, he retired. Charles departed this life on November 8, 2016 at the age of 83 years. He is joined now with his father, mother and sister in heaven with God. In addition to his wife and children he leaves to mourn his passing two nephews, David and Dennis Woods, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
