Obituary of Cubith V. Neely Sr.

Cubith Vincent Neely Sr. was born in Key West, Florida on January 28, 1929 to Cubit Haynes and Eureka Victory Neely. Cubith attended public school until he was sent by his aunt to the Oakwood Academy at which time he joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church and professed his love for Jesus Christ. He met his soon to be wife at Oakwood Academy, Ms. McKellar B. Fanroy. The two were married, Cubith was sent to Korea as a combat trooper after his tour and returned to the U.S. He and McKellar became the parents of two sons Cubith V. Neely Jr. and Timothy D. Neely. They also raised 62 Foster children as their own. Cubith was a member of the Capitol City SDA Church as a Deacon and Sabbath school leader for many years. He worked and retired from Naval Avionics after 37 years of service. Cubith's interest and hobbies included singing, playing Uno and Skip Bo, western movies and walking his dog, Princess. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife, McKellar Neely; two sons, Cubith Jr. (Gwen), and Timothy (Gina) Neely; seven daughters, Jackie, Charlene, Jenny, April, Melissa, Jerry and Tiffany; siblings; Joyce Neely, Jacquelyn Hepburn, Eyvonne Hepburn, Calvin Neely and Aaron Neely; 10 grandchildren, Kiauna, Cubith III, Arielle, Andre, Jasmine, Kandyce, Kameron, Jada, James, McKellar; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
